DOMESTIC missions

  • blue bucket Sunday

Named after the blue plastic buckets we use to hold the donations, this special contribution for local missions happens twice a year.  The money we raise goes to helping our neighbors in Grand Prairie, as well as church members who are in need. These donations help families pay for food, auto repairs, gasoline, housing, utilities, and special needs.  We raised $8,000 in 2016, and have already raised $8,645 this year!

  • ronald mcdonald house

Ronald McDonald House provides families with a free place to stay while their children go through treatment at a nearby children's hospital.  RMH also provides the families with free meals.  We partner with them by periodically going to cook and serve those meals to the families staying there.

  • gpisd

We have adopted two schools in Grand Prairie: Colin Powell Elementary and Sam Rayburn Elementary.  We reach out to the teachers and administrative staff and encourage them by delivering breakfast on the first day of school, as well as cookies as they prepare for the semester. We also host a teacher appreciation lunch in the fall.

CrossPoint also has an event at the end of every summer called Backpack Blessing, where members donate backpacks and school supplies to be distributed to elementary schools in Grand Prairie.  Last year, we donated supplies to six schools in our area.

  • meals on wheels

Meals on Wheels delivers meals to local residents who are home-bound.  We partner with them by helping to deliver meals.

  • serve events

Our youth families participate in SERVE projects throughout the year.  We raise money for hungry kids, clean up in areas damaged by tornados, pick up trash in local parks, help home-bound members by doing yard work, partnering with local food banks, packing dinner bags for our Thanksgiving Meal Drive, and visiting retirement homes to talk with residents and sing. SERVE events are family-based with the intent of having students and parents experience serving others together.

  • camp of the hills

Every Summer, our C3 Student Ministry serves the students at Camp of the Hills. Camp of the Hills is a Summer camp for at risk youth. Students and volunteers cook and serve the meals for the week. Over 2,750 individual meals are served during the week. We have been working with Camp of the Hills since 2009.

  • kenya

We support an orphanage called Sam's Place in Kenya.  Sam's Place takes in 40 deaf orphans and gives them a hope and a future through a Christian-based program in an environment that is conducive to spiritual, physical, emotional and academic growth.  We travel to Sam's Place each summer as well as meet various needs for them through out the year. Be on the look out for details about our 2017 trip in the bulletin.

  • Eastern european missions

Since 1961 Eastern European Mission (EEM) has been providing God’s Word to the people of Russia, Ukraine and Eastern Europe in their own languages.  We partner with EEM by purchasing Bibles to be donated. EEM also goes into schools to reach students, and plants churches in communities.

  • Pioneer bible translators

We support this organization who works to translate the Bible into new languages to continue spreading God's message to the whole world.
